Statement of Georgian Anti-Doping Agency on the report published by World Anti-Doping Agency

Given the high level of public interest, we would like to inform that the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency has carefully reviewed the report published on the website of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The Agency recognizes the seriousness of the matter, acknowledges its share of responsibility, and emphasizes that the principles of clean sport are not subject to compromise. In parallel with the ongoing investigation and following the publication of the report, the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency has already taken all necessary measures in relation to the above-mentioned violations to ensure that the testing process is fully compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standards.
It should be underlined that the violations identified within the scope of the investigation do not have a systematic nature. This is supported by the fact that no anti-doping rule violations have been confirmed against any player of the Georgia national rugby union team either before or after the period in question, and the anti-doping programs implemented by the Agency are being carried out in full compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Standards.
It should also be noted that the Agency became aware of the published findings through publicly available sources, and the report has not yet been officially provided to the Agency. Furthermore, despite the conclusion of the investigation and the comments reflected in the report, the Agency has not been provided with the case file materials to date.
The Georgian Anti-Doping Agency continues its cooperation with the World Anti-Doping Agency and other partner organizations and remains fully committed to the protection of clean sport.
