Anti-Doping Seminar with the Georgian Weightlifting National Federation’s Youth and Senior National Teams

The Georgian Anti-Doping Agency implements its anti-doping educational program in accordance with the International Standard for Education (ISE) under the World Anti-Doping Code.
In line with the requirements of this standard, education and awareness-raising activities are carried out through programs tailored to various target groups.
Anti-doping education promotes increased awareness, greater responsibility, and adherence to ethical standards in sport. It is based not only on rules and prohibitions, but also on deep knowledge and the ability to make the right decisions.
That is why education is considered a key tool in the prevention of doping and the protection of clean sport.
On September 11 of this year, Khatia Bakhsoliani, the Education Program Coordinator of the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency, conducted a seminar in Bakuriani with the Youth and Senior National Teams of the Weightlifting Federation, as well as their support personnel.
During the seminar, participants were introduced to the following topics:
Clean sport and the role and value of the athlete;
The World Anti-Doping Code;
The Georgian anti-doping rules;
The list of prohibited substances and methods;
Athletes’ rights and responsibilities;
Doping control procedures;
Anti-doping rule violations;
Management of an athlete’s steroid profile and biological passport;
Management of testing results.
