Visit of representatives of CEADO and Norwegian anti-doping organizations

From May 30 to June 2, 2022, the Chairman of the Council of the Central European Anti-Doping Organization (CEADO) Michael Kepik and the Director of International Relations and Medical Services of the Norwegian Anti-Doping Organization (ADNO) Martin Holmland Lawsen visited Georgia.The purpose of the mentioned visit is to strengthen the anti-doping capabilities of the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency and to support the work process of the implementation of the notes and recommendations presented in the "Final Report of the Audit Corrective Actions of the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency".They also participated in drafting the final version of Georgia's anti-doping legislation and developing the development strategy of the Georgian Anti-Doping Agency in accordance with the requirements of the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and international standards.
Within the framework of the visit, the members of the delegation held meetings with the employees and board members of the Anti-Doping Agency of Georgia. Also, they attended the field work meeting and committee session held in Telavi, on the initiative of the Sports and Youth Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, where the amendments to the Law on Sports, of which the Anti-Doping Law is a part, were discussed.
Within the framework of the mentioned external meeting, the members of the delegation met with the Chairman of the Sports and Youth Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Mikheil Kavelashvili and other members of the committee, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia and the National Olympic Committee of Georgia.
At the working meeting, the parties discussed the compliance of the national legislation of Georgia with the World Anti-Doping Code. It was mentioned once again that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth will prepare a draft of amendments to the Law "On Sports", which the Parliament will approve in September of this year.
